On August 4 the ANU Gender Institute held its awards event, where the School of History was well represented:

• Ruby Ekkel won the prize for the best journal article The Meaning of a Bushwalk with the Melbourne Women’s Walking Club, 1922-1945,
• Zoe Smith was highly recommended in the same category for “A Prisoner on the Rack”: Marital Rape, Consent and the Gothic in Late 19th-century Colonial Women’s Writings.
• Ashley Price was joint winner in the Honours Thesis category for her work: Nymphs in Muslin: Women’s Wandering and Embodiment of Classical Antiquity in Britain, c. 1780-1820.

The awards were presented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Joan Leach, at the China in the World Auditorium. The event featured a showcase of the ANU Gender Institute grants projects and the 2024 prize-winners' research.
